...And other attributed maligned behavior from Her Majesty Marie Antoinette (it was actually another queen that uttered those infamous words).
I have to admit, I have never had a real fascination with royalty, or in particular Marie Antoinette, but I was convinced that I should join this book club (blah, blah, blah) and I needed one more book to fulfill my obligation. I confess I judged a book by its cover, (it's quite pretty I might add). I am so glad I did, as I love historical accounts that utilize real quotes and letters to create dialouge
. I love it, it's like being a fly on the wall. This book, although a little more flowery than my usual tastes, was quite entertaining, all 500+ pages of it. I couldn't wait to get to bed at night so I could delve into the pages and be swept off to Versaille. Look, this is what I learned, it's not all cupcakes and bon bon's to be born into royalty, even though you may not want for the material items in life, the intangibles like being able to fall in love and be with that individual is completely not availed to you. So although I am only princess-like and not a real princess, I will be content (for now) for my lot in life. You can find out more about it here.
