Right before I got hired at the ol' j-o-b, I got a slew of custom logo work, go figure? I hadn't really had any before (besides the wonderful and talented Delia of Catholic Guilt, might I add witty as well?) and I wasn' t sure if I could take on the jobs, because I am after all very insecure sometimes, okay most times, and you have to be a little thick-skinned to have someone give you feedback on your creative endeavors. I got REALLY lucky with Delia, a saint and then Maria came along and has ruined me, she was so amazing that my client barometer is so darn high that if I can't work with someone as lovely, professional and gracious an individual as herself I ummm, don't want to really take on the job.

I was truly inspired by her style and grace. I think the namesake is brilliant for an event designer as bee's always give the impression of being hardworking, diligent and producing sweet results! We did the first round in this color scheme but I like the idea of switching up the colors seasonally for fall bringing in some pumpkin, holiday perhaps crimson? Valentine's blush of course! I asked Maria if I could use her logo as the inspiration for a wedding suite to be named after her, she said of course....I love the idea that a logo is so beautiful that another individual would want it for their wedding invites. I am not tooting my own horn here, if it weren't for my clients' directive and enthusiasm for the project I would have never been able to pull this one out of my proverbial hat on my lonesome. Designing an identity should be a joint effort and I do believe both parties should feel equally as elated by the end product or it's not a complete success. My other rule of thumb is would it look good on something that someone would want to keep? If not, it's back to the ol' drawing board... Please do visit The Ritzy Bee Blog, it's fantastic! I am sure you pretties know about it already, but in case you have been living under a rock (like myself, I am sooo web 1.0), please say hi to her here....
