Oh happy almost weekend! I received a lovely little bit of inspiration in my inbox via Anne at City Sage, she had a guest post from Rachel at Heart of Light and then I knew exactly where my post was going today.
Rachel is a big DIY'er and she always has such fun projects she shares that are easy and useful. Me likey the combo. Here's a pic she shared on Anne's blog a nifty jewelry organizer:

I also got a sweet note from my favorite lady Sharon Montrose (yes that Sharon Montrose, incredible animal photographer!@!#$!) that she was going to be at Unique L.A. this weekend, an urban craft extravaganza. Okay, so looks like something I need to go to, I will tell the Fancy it's 'research' for the BSP and he won't be so grumpy that I am deserting him.
I never really lack for things to do over the weekend I try to squeeze as much as I possibly can into these short 48 hours. The Fancy and I like to try out new recipes because we are psuedo foodies and like I mentioned before we try to out iron chef each other constantly. If you are a newbie chef, don't fear, try something from the folks at Everyday Food, it's almost always simple and not too time consuming and we have yet to have a meal that we give a thumbs down to.
I had two new shops open in my City of angels neighborhood this week, a craft class emporium called 'Hands on Third' I so want to go in and sew my little brains out. I love to sew (not that I am any good at it) but I don't have a large table in my manse in which to spread out all the sewing accouterments and the nearest sewing class is on the other side of town so this news has made me absolutely giddy! I hope that I can make myself a heap of summer frocks and I really want to make a new duvet and shams and napkins and you see how productive I could be? This is so satisfying to my inner Martha.
The other shop is Goodwill, I don't know how they afforded the rent in my posh little urban slice of city but they are here, brand spankin' new on the corner of my block and I am TOTALLY taking advantage of getting my hands on some serious thrifting, maybe even finding something outrageously fabulous and then taking it to Hands on Third and doing some recon. Oh my life get's better every day!
This type of stuff might be old hat in your part of the world but I have read about so many cool DIY spots in NYC, SF, Austin, etc. just wishing fervently I had a place like that to got to and now that it's near minutes from my abode I couldn't be more thrilled.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
P.S. I DESPISE the music at work (it's been the SAME thing for almost a year, ICK),.I can't change it but I want to be able to listen to something else on my work computer, very low. I love talk radio any AWESOME suggestions to keep me from going postal while I am here for 10+ hours???
