Wednesday! Already? Yahoo! I love Wednesday's, I prefer Friday's at 6:01 p.m. but I'll take a Wednesday over a Monday and up you a Tuesday any day. So here we are once again in my drivel inducing space I call home, okay my blahg home, so in my home there is no rhyme or reason, or method to my madness so I am going to wax philosophical on lip gloss today and vinyl record album covers, tell me lovelies you won't get that kinda variety on anyone else's blog? Nope, no siree...
So on to the important stuff--lip gloss. I have mentioned on more than one occasion that my so-called 'look' (in my head at least) is 'Brunette Bardot'. What does that mean? That means I have a permanent 'poof' on the back of my head, a 'bump' whatever you want to call it, but it is always there a nice back tease. I wear lot's of black mascara and nude lips. Enter exhibit A (taken when I walked through the door after an 11 hour day at the office on Monday):
Nude lips? This is hard, you can't ACTUALLY go out with nude/naked lips, no they need a nude somethin' somethin'. Nude glosses are so deceiving, they may look too peachy, pinky, beigy or whatever in the tube. The goal is to have a sheer gloss that cuts the red/blues in your lips (I know complicated right?) I had been using Smash Box's 'Sweet" which I liked but I just eat that stuff right off. Then I found something called 'Infallible' lipgloss by L'oreal in Suede. It last SIX hours, and it's a flippin' awesome nude. It's an interesting texture, not sticky or slimey like a traditonal gloss and definitely looks a lot less like you have been suckin' on pork chops than most glosses. Ace shot this image for his photo class, he's doing portraits this was an outtake since it wasn't that sharp (thank goodness!), but I liked it because it looked like it could have been on an album cover which brings me to this rad project--SleeveFace:
As
always when I stumble across something as clever as this project I
think why didn't I think of that? Fortunately if you were so inspired
you can do your own SleeveFace photo and submit it to their site. Happy Hump Day!
