I have a new favorite girl, her name is Heather Ross, she's pretty as pie and creative as all get out. She's an illustrator, author and sewing enthusiast (I am sure she's other things too). She's in with Martha, need I say more? I have been wanting to get her book since it arrived on my Amazon suggestion list but since I haven't sewn since 'Nam I didn't make it a priority. I ordered it a little after midnight this morning I became that motivated after I saw this clip of her on Martha (I tape Martha's show so I can watch them late night).
Besides the Built by Wendy books (which I revere) I haven't found a whole lot of sewing books that float my boat in the wardrobe dept. Lot's of skirts that you would never normally wear type stuff that aren't flattering on anyone's figure and look like you tied a table cloth around your gullet sort of thing. Heather's summer dress though looks perfect and perfectly easy, even someone with my nominal sewing skills could possibly (cross my fingers and toes) figure it out. As soon as we are finished moving, unpacking, straightening, cleaning and trying not to murder each other I think I will try the dress project.

If you have tried this or anything like it let me know if it was as easy as it looks. I am pretty amped but that could be the gallon of coffee I have consumed to get me through this day...
