Last night as I was dreading an early day at the office today and dreaming of an apartment that I could keep my sewing machine at the ready I found this fun site filled with some serious sewing inspiration called Made by Rae.
Rae just held a contest for the best top and the submissions were so cute and I am so darn inspired. Here are some of my faves.

This top is so lovely with its butter yellow hue and ruffles, I wish I was wearing it at work today. Michael Ann the sewist behind it said she adapted the pattern from the Built by Wendy Sew U book (I LOVE that book).

I guess I am just really feeling the love for ruffles + yellow. Quilty girls top is something that would look perfect with my fave white jeans and new yellow flats (that I am determined to find).
Briana Arlene's top above looks like she bought it in a cool indie store. I don't know about you but If I made any of these tops especially one with buttons I would be smug for weeks, maybe months. I am aching to pull out my sewing machine and try my hand at something similar. It won't be for awhile as the BSP May project has been sooooo much work, work is work and I am moving at the end of the month. I am happiest about the last one because I am going to aim for having a spot in the new apartment where I can just plop down and sew whenever the mood strikes. When it takes a force of nature to pull your sewing machine out and rearrange the furniture to have a place to sew and then to have to clean immediately because if you don't there will be a sewing machine in the middle of your liiving room and your Frenchie wants to swallow anything sharp then it takes the fun out of sewing. Also knowing that once you sew this masterpiece that your closet is too narrow to hold another hanger let alone another garment but I won't be worrying about that with the new apartment--Walk in closet here I come...
