Truly, if I knew I would derive so much pleasure from having farm fresh produce delivered and starting my own garden I would have done this years ago. I was under the impression that I needed space and I now have a tiny cement patio that currently has a flourishing herb garden (so far, so good), but if I would have read this book I surely would have had vegetables flowing from window ledges of my apartment sooner.
The Swiss chard, which I wasn't familiar with prior to the delivery was delicious, it tasted like spinach without that gritty aftertaste and it was gorgeous to boot. Fruit was exceptional even the plums weren't as tart as I am used to. I have become a convert on the home produce delivery front and becoming more evangelical each day on growing your own food, (herbs at the very least). A pack of chives can run you $5 in these parts, where as a chive plant will set you back about a buck. Our fresh oregano and basil, mixed with farm picked heirloom tomato slices took a Trader Joe's frozen pizza to a new level. I am one happy farmer.
