PEARLS OF WISDOM

I think it's hard for people to believe that I actually read through all the answers on The Bright Side Project.  I get asked that question a lot whether or not I do, how long it takes? Why? Etc.  I don't read through the answers for any other reason than I enjoy reading them.  They always evoke an emotion--a laugh, a tear.  Today the question was 'What pearls of wisdom do you live by?' I came up with the question (as sometimes we have to do) because the giveaway was a tiny owl necklace (get it? Owl=wise?). What I didn't expect was how many of the answers would assist me with my current fragile state. I have included some of the pearls here that really resonated with me. For the record I won't be choosing a winner of the prize so these answers only 'won' my heart.

CAN YOU HELP A MISS OUT?

Okay so for those that have been reading this Blahg you know that last week I begged you to help me get LOT'S of comments on my feature on The Bright Side Project and I did get just that--lot's of comments (thank you so much my ego has let out a huge sigh of relief). Well, now I need to choose a winner and as promised I read through ALL 1391 comments.  Yup (even with my huge leaning towards procrastination I did it).  I have narrowed it down to a few below and I was wondering from these if perhaps you can help me decide?  Just let me know what number you like in the comments and hopefully I can make a decison. I suck at decisions.

I thought it was funny that out of all the things in the world that you could tell me was your favorite Kristen K picked guacamole! Ever since I read this last week I have craved some myself and it is one of my favorite things as well.

A lot of people said books, but I liked the fact that like me Tim would die without books.  I guess we are both prone to hyperbole.

I like that KarenKaren said the Bright Side Project was one of her favorite things. It could have been deceptive strategy but it worked, I am duly flattered.

I think Jacinda is on to something, this is a very good favorite.

One of the ONLY readers to write a thank you in their comments? Double bonus that she said I was appreciated? Isn't that what everyone wants is to be appreciated? I've never been to the Renegade Crafts fair but I am crafty and would go..

Again, I love a thank you (especially after last month's truly back breaking project). I thought eyes were an interesting favorite and I love that she feels lucky to see. Me too.

I love my monkey's too, so I liked that Rhonda named them as one of her faves.

I'm torn between loving that Lauren and I are kindred souls and being jealous that she lives near mini donks.

I am totally down with Tali saying blogland is one of her favorite things.  I feel so lucky to own some real estate in this spacial of all places. That Tali lives on the other side of the world and leaves comments on the BSP (and here) thrills me to no end.

I am so with Janice on this one--OFFICE SUPPLIES! I can't get enough of them, give them to me old, new everything in between.

Okay, so I think I may be a little late announcing my winner so if you can help me make a decision, these are the lovelies I have narrowed it down to.  Oh decisons...

HELLO?

This is one of Oprah's favorite watches.  Mine too (I knew O. and myself had much in common). You could win this in a color of your choice and seriously it is so cool.  I always get stopped and complimented on my beauty but Toy Watch will not be happy with my meager comments on my feature as they far exceeded these numbers last time they were on The BSP solo.  I need help ladies. I had my Fancy's 12 year old client tell all her Friends, but I need you to do the same.  I need to try to hit 2100 before Monday midnight.  Consider it a 'vote' for me pledge. ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE TOLD EVERYONE????

Happy Tuesday!  I am so ecstatic to be back on a high speed internet connection, it's as close to euphoria as I have come in a long time.  We moved this weekend and I am so proud that I didn't complain incessantly like last time. I have know idea why I act as if I am climbing Everest or doing something equally as taxing, but that's how I feel about moving it feels like a feat and I really don't have that much to move. I suppose we established that I am a tad on the neurotic side. The good news is we are all moved in, the bad news is I won't get my internet connection at home until Saturday.  Kinko's and I have become bestie's.

I do hope you indulge me this week as I try to promote The Bright Side Project and specifically my own feature (above are some of the fabulous prizes we are giving away to ONE person!). No I am not just doing it for myself, although my ego was crushed into a million pieces today that I didn't even make 700 comments the first day.  I need help ladies I can't be the founder of the project and have zip, rien, zilch and besides Toy Watch will flog me if I don't get more comments than they had the first time out.  I asked the Fancy to help spread the word and he thought I had asked him to be a guest blogger, oy! I know you are all so much more popular than I am and have family that can actually use a computer (unlike my mother Charo who thinks that she will be hacking into the Pentagon if she checks her email). So please, please, pretty please let's get this party started and double those comments today!

P.S. For the record I have been reading every single comment on my Iphone and have started to make my list of favorites...

Okay, so I know you are on vacation doing something utterly fabulous and all BUT today I am on The Bright Side Project flappin' my gums over there about my favorite things and then my favorites are doling out prizes like it's going out of style.  I seriously have been having nightmares that I will have the least comments /answers of any blogger we have featured and so I am begging, pleading, cajoling you to please do me this one tiny, weeny favor and go over there and leave a comment.  Bonus, whoever comments, well  technically answers the question I pose  is entered to win all my faves (and they are something).  So pretty please, get over there, tell your friends, neighbors and complete strangers I can not go up and be all crickets and everything. THIS LOOKS SO PRO...

Oh this looks so pro, no?  I don't even know if the stainless is an option for the maybe/maybe not prize on Sunday at The Bright Side Project but the more I look the more overwhelmed my little brain is (just in case it is). Well I guess you will need to see if you can or can't win one of these on Sunday, May 30, 2010. I don't know. What I do know is our lovely weekend editor Miss Krista launches her faves on Saturday and the word on the street is everyone we asked to donate prizes for her feature said, "hells yes!" so there should be some great prizes to be had on Saturday.

I'LL TAKE TWO PLEASE..

I have been trying to mentally choose which color Kitchen-Aid stand-up mixer I would choose if I won one. Which I can't, but if I could...I was watching 30 Rock last night and one of the characters said, "Oh I don't do hypothetical situations, that's like lying to your brain." Sheesh, I lie to my brain all the time then. Well, they don't have one in my favorite color 'clear' (yet) but this here aqua is mighty pretty. Again, we may or may not be giving away a Kitchen aid stand-up mixer in color of your choice on The Bright Side Project on Sunday, May 30, 2010 and the contest IF it happens, which I can't say it will, because I'm not supposed to say anything, nope, my lips are sealed but just maybe, it will and it will be open for a week (if they are giving one away) and you didn't hear it from me, because I technically have not said anything I shouldn't have, but if I were you, I would check on Sunday and try to win something and that something might be a mixer but I don't know-maybe...

• How cool is it to have Jules guest on the BSP? Very cool, and her post is HILARIOUS, I pee'd my pants like 8 times reading it.

As you may know, or maybe not? The last 5 days of each project on The Bright Side Project we reserve for the best prizes (value wise) we believe all the prizes rock (no I am not just saying that because I am one of the scouts!) So, I will be back this afternoon to give you a big ol' teaser of what's in store for the weekend. Seriously, even if you are at a cabin on the lake you are going to want to check in to try to win! I HEART TULA + TUESDAYS

Doesn't this look like a tear sheet from a magazine?  I know right?  It's not, it's Tula, Kathleen of Twig + Thistle's pup (Kathleen shot the pics).  Gosh, this girl is talented, everything she does looks first class and so professional. I am so excited she is the guest blogger on The Bright Side Project today, I really admire her and I feel so awful that it took so long to get her featured.

I do have to admit, I did bite off more than I can chew with this month's project--31 different bloggers, 2 graphics per post, multiple prizes?  What the heck was I thinking?  It's been such a bear to scout the multiple prizes, coordinate and do all the graphics, even with the help of Miss Lindsey I am sweatin'. Don't get me wrong, I am excited that we have gotten this far (I almost don't believe it) but with a full-time job, moving and getting ready to launch a new site + business, I think someone should have shook me a little and said, 'Are you on crack?'

Speaking of new business!  Even though the Besotted Brand logo is going through some tweaks at a very late date in the game (hello?!  I am supposed to launch next month!!!???). I am slowly getting in inventory and last night I got in some of the secret stash that no one knows about and I can not wait to share!  Gosh, I hope I am not delusional and the world gets as excited about the offerings as I am. I could have stayed up all night going through everything and for the first time the stars aligned and I didn't have complaints (well not many).  I thought I would burst with happiness and I feel like making everyone that reads this Blahg and has stuck by me a present (but then that may just add to my insane schedule and would probably not be the best idea). As soon as the move is complete I will be ready for product shots and I so wish I could hire Nicole to do them but that's not in the budget, since the budget is uhm, really uhm sparse. So the point to this post?  Is there one ever? Yes, the point is until this month is over I may be all willy nilly here and there, mostly there (I hope you join me). I know everyday is a gift but I am seriously looking forward to June...
