If I knew what pleasure I would get from a mere glimpse of my color coordinated bookshelf (not shown) I would have gotten off my bum a million years sooner. I can not explain the sheer delight from seeing all my books in order. I did take all the dust jackets off because really, these are MY books and why live with something you dislike? I hate dust jackets, they are always so garish and glossy and there were treasures underneath those jackets, beautiful book cloth complete with metallic embossing. It's the little things right? Those little details and the discovery of a great 'find' that makes taking a day to do something so insane worth it (I own A LOT of books). BTW, for the bookshelf I went to Goodwill. I have mentioned how small my apartment is and our last bookshelf couldn't make it through the tiny opening that would be considered the door frame. I bought mine for $5, slapped on some bright white paint, added my color coordinated books and I am just one happy anal retentive.
I collected a couple more images in case you weren't swayed by my testimony that this is life changing...
The people in the story below (click photo) have since 'un-color' coordinated their books. This is their 'before'. It wasn't convenient enough for them, but I still prefer the before and I would love a little smooch time with that Frenchie. Just sayin'...
